
Kate’s life’s work is to help birthing people claim their full agency and sovereignty in birth.

- Fluent in Spanish

Kate enjoys studying plant medicine, with a certificate in traditional herbalism from Rosemary Gladstar. She has received training through Doulas of North America (DONA), and Trauma Matters Omaha, in trauma-informed care.
Kate grounds herself in this work by making delicious teas, infusions, and soups, spending time in wild places and bodies of water, loving her family and friends, and camping and backpacking.
She is co-author of the book How to Take Care, and has hosted the Taproot Doula Project since 2013.
She is married to Mike, an attorney specializing in Native American law, and mother to Tusca, born at home in San Diego.
